nameless sovereign is one of my all time favorite webnovels in the entire world. there are about 500 chapters and it is soo goood. i've always liked this genre of story called xianxia. it's this fantastical world of fantasy where people cultivate.

cultivating, in this context, is about harnessing power for oneself either through martial arts training, forbidden knowledge, spirituality, influence, or anything that could effect change.

in these xianxia stories, there are realms of cultivation where you ascend from a mere mortal to higher realms. from qi refining, foundation establishment, golden core, to nascent soul.

these worlds are teeming with hidden dangers and opportunities from sects and clans who constantly try to undermine each other for more power. and from magical beasts and hidden powerhouses who should not be offended, lest misfortune befalls your bloodline.

it gets really philosophical too because it pulls from ancient chinese mythology. all the time the dao is invoked where cultivators constantly seek for enlightenment about the world and their specific cultivation path.

there are various cultivation paths like alchemy, sword arts, formations, body refinement, spiritual refinement, talisman crafting, demonic cultivation, beast taming, illusion arts, karmic cultivation, puppet mastery, poison arts, spirit herb cultivation, divination, and more!

i love this genre so much that i even went so far as paying for a membership to the author of the nameless sovereign
