Work

I've been working so much, yesterday, I literally work the whole day, but in the morning there was no wifi and internet so I couldn't really do much. All the other engineering and nursing students went up to St. Mary's to conduct a workshop which was about finding out what the needs of the community were and how we could help them through projects that we ideated.

For me, I stayed back with one engineering professor and I worked on the borehole website. I was able to get a lot done despite the initial lack of progress this morning.

Further, the Mzuzu trip got pushed back by a day so I get more time to work on the website and among other things. And, for the meeting, it seems like there will be, not only academics, but also some government officials from like the ministry of water or something. Pretty cool.

New People

During the morning, I got to meet some Chinese foreigners, Katherine and Willow, studying at the University of Edinburgh for their masters and they were down here in Malawi for research. I don't know specifically what degree they were doing, but it was something along the lines of international development, sustainable development, and education through the a postcolonial lens. It was pretty cool to meet them and hear about their research and what they were doing here in Malawi.

It was really interesting that Kapirimtende, the place were staying at, is at the center of like international intrigue and research especially considering what our group was doing which delved into research, engineering, computer science, and nursing. We target a lot of different areas and interestingly those researchers were studying topics that intersected with our work.
